Who is Zhang Lao Shi? How is he different from others?

1. Zhang Lao Shi is ex-MOE subject head of Chinese language, with 15 years teaching experience.

Native CL speaker, bilingual, Degree in computing (NUS), Post-grad diploma (NIE), Master of Arts (NTU)

2. He specialised in Primary school CL curriculum and assessment, especially PSLE.

[Oral] As a subject head himself, he was the PSLE Chief Oral Examiner(COE) for years who analyzed PSLE questions and train other MOE teachers. He developed Hi-5 e-oral strategy together with HODs, Subject Heads and Senior Teachers from Maha Bodhi School, Poi Ching School and St Joseph Junior. Hi-5 strategy is an effective thinking routine to help your child organise their thinking in oral conversation.

[Comprehension] He was PSLE markers for 14 years for Standard CL and Higher CL paper. He is very familiar with PSLE marking standard and can give the best exam techniques to his student, one of them is PEEL strategy to improve comprehension skills in main paper.
    

[Composition] He was trained Making Thinking Visible teacher back in MOE and his composition writing class using thinking routines and mind-mapping to trigger student thinking process and enrich content of the essay. He developed 32 PSLE phrases composition package to help student achieve excellent writing result.    

3. He also gave 1 to 1 tuition for Secondary School students. 正式实用文，非正式实用文，记叙文，议论文，理解问答. He will analyze past 10 years O/N level exam questions and give the best exam techniques to his students, one of which is called PEELS Strategy for oral conversation and comprehension in O/N level.
